Dick Thurston, former Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), offered valuable guidance on enhancing Alpha Ring’s IP portfolio and stronger trademark protections. Meanwhile, Alpha Ring also engaged with Dr. Darío Gil (upper right), IBM’s Senior Vice President and Director of Research, and discussed focuses on AI, machine learning, and cloud computing. Dr. Gil also shared IBM’s advancements in AI and quantum computing, highlighting how these technologies can support Alpha Ring’s product development and competitive positioning.
Minicourse on Nuclear Fusion at IPEN Brazil Draws Over 50 Participants
The Institute for Energy and Nuclear Research (IPEN), a leading Brazilian research institute dedicated to nuclear energy and technology, recently hosted a minicourse on nuclear fusion experiments as part of its STEAM Day program. The event, held on September 4, attracted over 50 participants, mostly undergraduate and graduate students from the University of São Paulo. Using equipment provided by Alpha Ring Group, the course offered practical demonstrations of Deuterium-Deuterium (D-D) fusion, including live measurements transmitted from California. Proton- Boron (pB) fusion results were also discussed.
Led by IPEN’s Director of Research, Niklaus Wetter, this unique course allowed students to gain hands-on experience with nuclear fusion, and further highlighted Alpha Ring’s contribution to making fusion experimentation more accessible, preparing the next generation of scientists and engineers in this rapidly evolving field.
Alpha Ring Captures Major Attention at 4th International Workshop on Proton-Boron Fusion in Italy
Alpha Ring proudly participated in the 4th International Workshop on Proton-Boron Fusion, held at ENEA’s research campus near Rome from September 30 to October 3, 2024. The event gathered over 100 global experts to discuss advancements in pB fusion technology, with Alpha Ring represented by VP of Engineering Allan Chen, Senior Scientist Alexander Gunn, EMEA General Manager Giovanni Landi, and VP of Business Development Iskren Vankov.
Allan Chen presented Alpha-E, Alpha Ring’s innovative educational system, sparking strong interest from attendees for its practical research applications. Alexander Gunn led a poster session on Alpha Ring’s latest research, engaging the scientific community in fruitful discussions.
The team also toured ENEA’s facilities, exploring potential collaborations on plasma confinement and accelerator technologies.
