Monaco, 30 April 2025 — A world first live demonstration of Alpha Ring’s tabletop and remotely operated Fusion AI Data Center gave leading figures in global fusion a chance to see how it operates first-hand for the first time.

The Alpha-E fusion devices — in two labs in California and Taiwan — were remotely operated in real-time from the Monaco Clean Fusion Forum, which took place yesterday. Attendees witnessed how researchers and students worldwide will be able to conduct live fusion experiments via a secure, cloud-based infrastructure, eliminating traditional barriers of geography, regulation, and cost.

His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco gave the welcome speech, in which he called for the need to accelerate scientific capabilities through education.

“It is essential to do everything in our power to accelerate its development, to expand the scientific capabilities, mobilize minds — not only those of engineers but also of industry leaders and public authorities. This is one of the aims of this Forum and I hope it will enable us to make real progress on this issue,” said H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco.

The Monaco Clean Fusion Forum, which took place at the Yacht Club de Monaco, was organized by Alpha Ring, a global leader in micro-fusion technology, in partnership with the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, and was attended by more than 200 business and academic leaders.

Peter Liu, the CEO of Alpha Ring, said: “I was immensely proud to have shown Prince Albert II how our technology can advance and accelerate the pursuit of fusion. The Monaco Clean Fusion Forum has demonstrated that the future of fusion is within reach. Through global collaboration, investment in talent, and commercially investable technology, we can chart a path to limitless clean energy. Alpha Ring is proud to lead the way in delivering accessible, scalable fusion technologies that can drive real-world impact right now. Today’s demonstration is the starting point in empowering the great minds around the world — both now and in the future — to deliver fusion.”

The Forum also played host to the signing of agreements between Alpha Ring and eight leading academic institutions from the Americas to Europe and Asia.

The agreement provides Alpha-E devices to its partners the University of Oxford (UK), UC Berkeley (USA), Purdue University (USA), National Cheng Kung University (Taiwan), IPEN (Brazil), RSE S.p.A (Italy), Macau University of Science and Technology (Macau), and the University of Montenegro (Montenegro). This marks a major expansion of hands-on fusion education globally. Each device will be connected to the Fusion AI Data Center, creating a distributed, collaborative network for experimental fusion research. It will enable students a hands-on platform to undertake and witness real life fusion, bringing this opportunity out of the lab and into educational establishments worldwide.

Giovanni Landi, EMEA General Manager of Alpha Ring, said: “Our revolutionary micro-fusion technology enables universities to rapidly advance their fusion research programs and accelerate the path to commercial fusion. We are proud to be breaking down barriers to access and enabling these institutions to take the next step forward in fusion education.”

The Monaco Clean Fusion Forum confirmed Monaco’s role as a global hub for clean technology leadership and reinforced Alpha Ring’s vision: to democratize fusion research, empower the next generation of scientists and engineers, and accelerate the clean energy transition for the benefit of humanity.
