Alpha Ring Signs Deals with Leading International Universities to Accelerate Fusion Research

Monaco, 28 APRIL 2025 — Alpha Ring, a global leader in micro-fusion technology, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with multiple world-leading universities and research institutes at a signing ceremony at the Monaco Clean Fusion Forum, accelerating breakthroughs by bringing fusion out of the lab and into educational institutions worldwide.

The MoU provides each university and research institute with one of Alpha Ring’s Alpha-E devices, a revolutionary tabletop fusion system designed for research and education. Alpha-E is an affordable, safe, and hands-on platform that provides access to fusion research, empowering the next generation of fusion talent.

Peter Liu, CEO of Alpha Ring, said:

“Our revolutionary micro-fusion technology enables universities to rapidly advance their fusion research programs and accelerate the path to commercial fusion. We are proud to be breaking down barriers to access and enabling these institutes to take the next step forward in fusion education.”

Signing the MoU were:

  • On behalf of Macau University of Science and Technology, Macau: Dr. Quen Wang
  • On behalf of National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan: Dr. Huey-Jen Su, Professor Emeritus of Environmental Health
  • On behalf of the Nuclear Energy Research Institute (IPEN), Brazil: Dr. Isolda Costa, IPEN Superintendent
  • On behalf of Purdue University, USA: Dr. Jason Harris, Professor of Radiological Health Sciences and Director for the Center for Radiological and Nuclear Security
  • On behalf of Ricerca sul Sistema Energetico, RSE S.p.A., Italy: Dr. Luciano Martini, Director of the Materials and Generation Technologies Department
  • On behalf of the University of California, Berkeley, USA: Dr. Massimiliano Fratoni, Professor and Chair of the Nuclear Engineering Department
  • On behalf of the University of Montenegro, Montenegro: Dr. Gordana Lastovicka-Medin, Professor of Physics
  • On behalf of the University of Oxford, UK: Dr. Gianluca Gregori, Professor of Physics

Each Alpha-E device will connect to Alpha Ring’s Fusion AI Data Center, also announced at the Clean Fusion Forum, a digital platform that leverages high-performance computing and real-time analytics to advance fusion research, diagnostics, and collaboration using experimental, simulated, and theoretical data.

This unified, AI-powered platform is expected to drive exponential growth for educational institutions and educators, further empowering them with tools to train the next generation of fusion scientists and engineers.
