Alpha Ring International R&D Team in Taiwan: Advancing Fusion and Expanding Collaborations
End of December last year, ARI’s R&D team visited Taiwan for a series of discussions on fusion research and new applications. The delegation included Professor Gianluca Gregori (Oxford University), Professor Stephen John Ciesinski (Past President of Stanford Graduate of Business), Dr. Su Mai Wu Shih, Mr. Kenzo Fujisue (Former Japanese House of Councillors Member), and Professor Ma Zi Wei(Professor of Physics of Zhejiang University). The team shared updates on diagnostics, plasma modeling, and materials, with a strong focus on pushing fusion research forward. Key discussions covered reactor development,including plasma stability and reaction efficiency, while ARI Chief Strategist Dr. Peter Hsieh presented insights from ARI’s latest paper on plasma oscillation systems, showcasing our latest breakthroughs.
Beyond fusion, the R&D team also discussed the Alpha-E/M system’s potential in cancer treatment through BNCT, opening possibilities in the medical field. In addition, the team welcomed Nathan, Ben, and Sasha to the R&D team and are expected to bring expertise in diagnostics,materials, and modeling. To wrap up the visit, Chairman Liu brought the team to attend Chimei Group’s year-end party in Tainan,strengthening ties and celebrating a great year of progress. Looking ahead to 2025, we’re excited to keep building on these collaborations and innovations as a team.
Welcoming Peter Kurz as Chairman of Alpha Ring Asia
We are pleased to announce that Peter Kurz has joined Alpha Ring Asia as Chairman. With a strong background in finance,investment banking, and market strategy, Peter Kurz brings decades of experience in global markets and a deep understanding of economic trends, particularly in Taiwan and Asia. He holds a degree in Geology from Dartmouth College and a Master’s in International Relations from Columbia University, and has held key leadership roles, including Bond Trader at Bank of Boston, International Securities Trader at Bear Stearns, and Head of Baring Securities Taiwan. He later served as General Manager of Merrill Lynch Taiwan and chairman at Citi Bank Taiwan. His insights into financial markets, investment strategies, and cross-border economic developments will be invaluable as Alpha Ring continues to expand its footprint in the fusion industry. We look forward to his contributions and guidance in shaping our future growth!
Asia Minister of Economic Affairs of Taiwan Visits Alpha Ring, Reinforcing Support for Fusion Energy
We were honored to host Minister of Economic Affairs, Minister Kuo, during his recent visit to Alpha Ring, where he reaffirmed the government’s commitment to advancing clean energy under three key principles: safety, nuclear waste management, and social consensus.Minister Guo acknowledged that Alpha Ring fully aligns with these priorities, recognizing our dedication to developing safe, sustainable, and innovative fusion technology.
During the visit, Minister Kuo was particularly impressed by Japan’s strategic approach to nuclear fusion, especially with the initiative of Japan Fusion Alliance and its advancement of the fusion energy supply chain and educational programs. He emphasized the importance of Taiwan actively engaging in fusion development to stay ahead in the global energy transition.
His visit marks a significant endorsement of our work and highlights the growing governmental interest in fusion as a viable energy solution.Looking ahead, Minister Kuo will return to Alpha Ring, joined by the Minister of the National Science and Technology Council and the Minister of the National Development Council, further strengthening the dialogue between Alpha Ring and national leaders.
Alpha Ring Showcases Alpha-E at 2024 MET Japan
Alpha Ring was honored to participate in the 2024 Macnica Exponential Technology (MET)event in Japan, held from November 27 to December 13. As Japan’s largest innovation-focused event, MET brought together leaders from industries such as AI, IoT, clean energy, and autonomous driving to address global challenges and advance digital transformation.Alpha Ring was featured in the prestigious “Seed of Seed” section, highlighting its pioneering work in nuclear fusion education. Showcasing its Alpha-E educational system,Alpha Ring demonstrated how the platform bridges the fusion knowledge gap, fosters talent development,
and enhances academic collaboration and technological advancements. The booth attracted strong interest from major companies, including Hitachi, Sony, TDK, IHI, and the City of Yokohama, eager to explore Alpha-E’s applications in hands-on fusion learning, medical research, and sustainable energy. The event reinforced Alpha Ring’s role in shaping the future of fusion education and industry collaboration. Stanley Chung, Alpha Ring’s VP of Business Development, noted Japan’s commitment to fusion but also its public knowledge gap, which Alpha-E aims to bridge. In collaboration with Macnica’s innovation team, Alpha Ring explored co-marketing opportunities, participation in Green Expo 2027, and facility visits in the U.S. and Taiwan. VP Iskren Vankov also delivered a keynote on live fusion workshops in Brazil and Taiwan. Moving forward, Alpha Ring will build on MET’s momentum, refine its market strategy, and prepare for COP30 in Brazil,reinforcing its global impact on fusion education.
Alpha-E Successfully Approved by Taiwan’s Nuclear Safety Commission
We are proud to announce that Alpha-E has been officially approved by Taiwan’s Nuclear Safety Commission following its successful evaluation at our Tainan laboratory. This milestone marks a significant step forward invalidating Alpha-E’s safety, reliability, and potential for advancing nuclear fusion education and research. The approval underscores Alpha-E’s compliance with Taiwan’s stringent nuclear safety regulations, reinforcing its role as a cutting-edge fusion learning platform. This achievement paves the way for further deployments and collaborations, strengthening Alpha Ring’s commitment to fusion innovation and global energy solutions.

Alpha Ring Asia’s Year-End Celebration
Alpha Ring Asia concluded the year with its highly anticipated annual year-end celebration, themed “Fusion Is Fashion,” blending the worlds of cutting-edge science and high fashion in a unique and unforgettable evening.The event was hosted at the Alpha Ring office in Neihu District, featuring an exclusive showcase of CEO Peter Liu’s collection of over 300 eyeglasses from around the globe, which offers a glimpse into his refined style and appreciation for design. Alpha Ring also hosted a stunning fashion show featuring models from Alpha Ring’steam of scientists and business development teams. In a creative nod to fusion energy, our scientists captivated the audience dressed as Iron Man. CEO Richard confidently took to the runway, joined by Taiwan’s Chief Scientist Chia-Yi and respected advisor Tom Wang.Adding to the energy of the show, members of the WI Harper Group investment team also walked the runway,highlighting the collaborative spirit of the event. Guests also enjoyed handcrafted cocktails from WAT and Hyboru bar of Taipei, paired with delicious cuisine catered by CEO 1950. The evening’s atmosphere was brought to life by a talented DJ and lighting team from the London and Taipei Fashion Shows, creating an unforgettable experience.
